HAIRY HOLIDAY TUESDAY

25 Jan

Bit of a weird title – Tuesday is the day i usually do my hair tips and e-mail them out to the members of the Suqa face-book page – If your wondering why – it’s because among the 2000 things i do on a daily- I also co own a hair and beauty Salon called Suqa on Ggaba road opposite the American Embassy

THIS WEEKS TIP: FOOD TO AVOID SO AS TO HAVE HEALTHY HAIR
There are some foods that you should avoid and replace with fresh fruits and vegetables.
Why? To ensure that the hair that is forming beneath the surface of your scalp is healthy. Your diet can also PREVENT hair loss!
So, the foods to avoid include too many sweets, chocolate, cakes and cookies. Unfortunately, these favorites simply don’t help your hair.

SO WHAT DO YOU EAT?

* Essential fatty acids, especially omega-3 fatty acids, play a key role in skin, hair, and nails. You should eat some of these foods, which are rich in omega-3, every day:
o Salmon, tuna, mackerel, and other fatty fish
o Flax seed oil
o Walnuts and almonds
* Vitamins B-6, B-12, and folic acid are also important to your hair. Vegetarians and vegans often don’t get enough of these vitamins.
o Good sources of vitamin B-6 include bananas, potatoes (both white and sweet), and spinach.
o Eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially citrus fruits and tomatoes, will help you get folic acid. Whole grain and fortified grain products, beans, and lentils also contain folic acid. Major sources of B-12 include meat, poultry, fish, and dairy products.
* Protein is also critical for keeping hair healthy, but many people don’t get enough. Lean meat like fish, chicken, eggs, and soy products are good sources of protein; eat one serving every day.
* Trace minerals like magnesium and zinc also affect hair- it’s a good idea to take a daily multivitamin.

SPEAKING OF HAIR WHAT DO YOU THINK OF RIRI’S NEW LOOK?

I Have 3 letters for this hair OMG!

Today feels like a weekend – so we’re a tad more adventurous!
